Obituary of Rebecca Shivers

Rebecca Helen (Oliver) Shivers was born on October 7, 1938 to Joseph Clifford Oliver
and Letha Victoria (Jones) Oliver in Conway, South Carolina. She departed this life on
October 11, 2021 peacefully at home in Paterson, New Jersey. Rebecca Helen
relocated to New Jersey with her parents at the age of 5. She resided in New Jersey for
78 years and lived in East Orange and Paterson, with most of this time spent in
Paterson.

Rebecca Helen attended Elementary School 4 and Central High School in Paterson.
She was united in marriage with Joseph Bubby Shivers II, on November 22,1957, and
to this union four children were born. Rebecca Helen was employed by Lear
Siegler/Bogan Communications as an Electrical Wiring Supervisor. She retired in
2001after 43 years of service.

Rebecca Helen was a member of New Christian Tabernacle and Grace Chapel Church.
Rebecca Helen enjoyed bowling and was affiliated with various Bowling leagues. Her
average bowling score was 200. She enjoyed travelling to many tournaments
throughout the United States.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Letha, her husband Joseph Shivers,
sister Pearline Ward, brother Joe (Jake) Oliver and Glenn (Fuzzy) Prevard,
daughters-in-law Joyce Ann Shivers and Michelle Shivers.

She leaves to cherish her memories beloved children Joseph Bubby Shivers III,
Hampton, VA, Shawn Keith Shivers (Jenifer), West Grove, PA, Tracy Elaine Shivers,
Paterson, NJ and Dane Andrew Shivers (Miriam), Paterson, NJ. Sisters: Wilma (Lolo)
Muthee, Letha Veal, Diane Conley, brother Donald Oliver and sister-in-law Gloria
Henson,11 grandchildren, 29 great grand-children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins
and many friends.
