Aunty Louisa and Egbert would dance to music in the basement. Egbert attended my wedding Dec.26,1970. His brother Robbie visiting from London, his sisters Alex and Ruthine were in the wedding. In those days receptions were held in the basement, so we partied at Dr. Harold James home on Shanley Avenue, in Newark. Harold was Egbert's Dad and my Mother's cousin. Egbert renovated our basement and kitchen on Sunnyside Terrace, East Orange. He was skillfull and we enjoyed Saturday morning shopping at Home Depot. He and my mom had a special bond and they reminised about Dominica and good food. Had it not been for Harold and his son Egbert we would have a small family, but since I am an only child it's great to have 'cousins, too numerous to mention'. My mom lived to 102, so I figured Egbert would be here for many more years. But, it was not God's plan. RIP Egbert.
