Obituary of Luke Earnest White,Jr.

On August 20th 1944 Luke was delivered by his grandmother, the late Minnie Williams in Fowl River, Alabama into the loving arms of his parents, the late Sellia Mae White (Thompson) and Luke White Sr. The Lord called him home and welcomed him unto his Kingdom on Wednesday April 15, 2020. Luke graduated from Mattie Blount High School in 1962 located in Prichard Alabama. Soon after he decided to head North in search of new beginnings. Luke landed in New Jersey where he met his late wife Josephine White, they were married in 1966 and unto this union were born a son Derrick, and two Daughters Sonya and Nakia. After 32 years of marriage his loving wife was called home. Luke later fathered his last child Selena and raised Serria as his daughter. Luke was employed by Fisher Scientific for 46 years he held a variety of positions thorough out the company, Luke became shop steward for OCAW Union Local #8-4127, He then became Secretary of Treasury, traveling to Colorado, Las Vegas ensuring the workers’ rights were heard. Luke retired in 2012. Luke obtain his Gospel of Ministry Certificate License on September 04, 2011, issued by the Exodus Baptist, Church of Paterson N.J., he continued Ministry studies under the guidance of Apostle Gbolahan Akinsanya. Luke was a devoted member of the Christ Church International located in Passaic NJ. One of his favorite bible verses was; Romans 8:26 (King James Version) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Luke loved his family, he was the thread that kept everyone in touch from New Jersey to Alabama, he created lasting memories for all of us. His smile was contagious and genuine, to say he would be missed is an understatement. Luke was known to his friends as Cool Hand Luke. In his younger years he loved bowling, playing basketball, taking his children to the park and playing cards with the family. He was also known as the neighborhood DAD. Cooking out on his custom-made grill was one of his favorite past times. Taking his family to his company cook out at Sun Tan Lake was one of his yearly enjoyments. Luke was preceded in death by his wife Josephine White, Mother Sallie Mae White, Father Luke White Sr, and two Sisters Catherine White and Inez Nettles Luke leaves to cherish his memories his son Derrick D. White of Washington DC; his three daughters Sonya S. (Roy) Woodson of East Stroudsburg Pa; Nakia J, White of Nairobi Kenya; Selena White of Montclair Nj; Step-daughter Serria Holman; Five. Grand Children Domuniqe White of Paterson NJ; Aydia Woodson of Stroudsburg PA; Derica White of Paterson NJ; Jasmine White of Englewood NJ; Myia (Plutarch) Thelus of Tamarac FL; Four Great Grandchildren Osiris of Paterson NJ: Anthony McNeal III of Paterson NJ; Dariyohn Baker of Paterson NJ: Logan Woodson Stroudsburg PA: and a host of nieces and nephews from New Jersey to Alabama who he loved deeply Acknowledgments We wish to express our sincere thanks and deepest appreciation for all acts of love and kindness during our time of sorrow.
