My dearest Friend, Family, and Friends,
My friendship with Almeta goes back to our early 20's when life was less involved.
Almeta was a sister and a friend that everyone loved and she loved. She was always there for her family and her friends.
I remember how she always opened her home to people; male and female... when people needed time to get their life right.
Almeta loved hard and she loved all of us.
Short story: She and I purchased these matching extremely tight short spandex dresses. We walked and dieted to get in these dresses. Eventually, we wore the dresses out to a party only one time. Then we hung them back up and never wore them again. For years, Almeta had that dress hanging on her closet door and then stored it in the closest. We always talked about those dresses. It was the bond of our lives. The night we wore those dresses, we were the life of the party and too too cute!!!
I can't tell you how sad I am and how much I'm going miss her.
I moved to VA and she and I spoke weekly for years, then monthly or when I was in town. We worked side by side at the VA in the IV room for years. She helped celebrate my daughter's birth, then graduation and them my move to VA. And I celebrated her as well. We communicated on holidays and then not as often as we liked. When we did, it was like we never missed a minute apart. And oh yes, we talked about the dresses.
Almeta, you don't need the dress anymore to be too too cute. The Lord gave you your wings which is the best and ultimate robe we will every need...
So fly high and keep watch over us. I'll wear a couple dresses for you until we meet again!
Love you with all heart and soul!
