Obituary of John Riddick

John W. Riddick was born November 4, 1943 to James Cleophus Riddick and Ada Burley. He was the fourth child born into a family of seven children. As a young boy John worked on the farm with his dad to help support the family. John was educated in the Gates County Public School System. He graduated from Central High in Gatesville North Carolina in 1962. At the age of 18 John's dad put John on a bus and sent John to New York. Once arriving in New York John found employment with the Joseph Cory Furniture Company. As a dedicated and hardworking employee, John was able to purchase himself a beautiful place to call home. After several years of John's employment the Joseph Cory Furniture Company was relocated to another state. John elected not to relocate with the company and instead found a new job driving a school bus for the Able Bus Company. He drove the school bus for 16 years and decided to retire at age 67. John was a man of God and attended church every Sunday John was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Geraldine and Sarah and his brother James. He leaves to cherish his memory his two children Jalaunda Fripp and Adam Towns. One son in law Arnold Fripp; two granddaughters Keyarrah Towns and Adania Towns; five grandsons Amir Fripp, Jaylen Towns, Adam Towns Jr., Keith Towns and Jordan Towns; one aunt Helen Boone ; one sister Lemonzine Riddick; two brothers Curtis and William Riddick; one sister in law Nancy Riddick and his ex-wife Katherine Riddick. John will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friend
