Obituary of William E. Ducksworth, Jr.

On Friday, July 27, 2018, William E. Ducksworth Jr. expired suddenly at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey where he had gone for routine medical tests.

The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00am at Fountain Baptist Church, 116 Glenside Avenue, Summit. N. J.

The visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N. J.

William was born in New York City on March 23, 1966 to William E. and Dr. Sarah Smith Ducksworth. He lived the first eleven years of his life in Queens. He often spoke lovingly of Laurelton, where he entered and completed his primary and elementary education. He moved with his family to Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, in 1977. Standing at six feet five he played PAL basketball and made the varsity team in high school. He graduated from  Valley Forge Military Academy in 1984. After completing high school, he attended Southern Connecticut University and University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.

During his adult life he worked in banking, finance, marketing and sales.

William was a sensitive, intelligent, and loving human being and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He leaves behind his parents, his sister Sheila Ducksworth, his aunts Deloris Smith, Ruby Dawson, Jessie Ducksworth, his uncle B.C. Ducksworth, a host of cousins, his best friend and confidante, Iris Colon, and his two much beloved dogs--Dogo  Argentinos, Nala and Remington.
