Keyeen Sharod Scott Obituary

Keyeen Sharod Scott, son of Joann Scott and Frederick Parker, was born on May 23, 1980, in Newark, New Jersey. He was affectionately known as “Swazo.” He grew up in Newark where he attended 13th Avenue School and West Side High School.

Eight years ago, Keyeen moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There he stayed with his beloved Aunt Ronnie (Veronica Parker), whom he called “Ma,” and she called him her son.

Keyeen was talented with music, especially rapping and writing. That was his passion. He was always in the studio making music. He was also known for being the life of the party. When Keyeen walked into a room, you knew you were going to have a good time.

Keyeen loved to travel. He would call me and say, “You'll never guess where I am at!” I would say, “Where, boy?” That's what I called him, “Boy.” One time he said, “I'm in Mississippi.” I said, “What the hell you doing in Mississippi?” “A friend asked me to go,” he replied. I said, “Boy, be careful.” He was always on the move.

Keyeen loved his family unconditionally. No matter what, he always wanted to see the bright side of everything. He had a big family and loved all of them, from the youngest to the oldest. He always wanted to be around his family. Family meant a great deal to him. He also had many, many friends. Everywhere he went, he would make a friend for life. He would talk to anyone. Keyeen was a popular guy.

Keyeen, affectionately known as “Swazo,” will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his two grandmothers, Shirley Ella Scott and Gloria Jean Parker; his cousin/brother, Rashawn Earl Parker; his brother, Frederick Eugene Parker Scott III; his grandfather, William H. Scott; his uncle, William H. Scott, Jr.; his cousin, Kimberly Saunders; his close cousin, Kevin Jackson; and his cousin, Terrance Bradley (T.T.).
