Vaughn Antonio Stewart, born in St. Andrew, Jamaica on April 20, 1988, passed away on March 10, 2026. From an early age, Vaughn demonstrated intelligence and a quick understanding, with a remarkable ability to grasp, retain, and reflect on what he learned.

Vaughn began his education at Waterford Primary School in Jamaica and later attended Bridgeport High School, graduating in 2005. During his high school years, he was an active member of the drama group, where he participated in various activities and competitions, including public speaking. He also enjoyed sports and spent his free time playing cricket.

Vaughn migrated to the United States as a young man, carrying with him a vibrant spirit, strong values, and a bright future.  Vaughn attended Essex County College Newark campus, where he enrolled in the pre-medical degree program. A natural leader, he was elected as the Student Body President, representing the student population and advocating to improve student life and administration representation.  He was instrumental in organizing and engaging in social campus events and made a lasting impact on the college community. His academic excellence was recognized as he earned the Dean’s List.  Vaughn’s career included positions as a Pharmacy Technician and as a Customer Service Representative for corporate and retail companies.

Vaughn lived according to his beliefs, which guided his life, faith and relationships. He found joy and peace in reggae music, embracing its rhythms as a reflection of his roots and culture. He also had a deep love for sports, appreciating both the game and the sense of unity it brought. 

Vaughn will be remembered for his kind heart, sharp mind, strong faith, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends.  Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will never be forgotten.

Vaughn leaves behind his parents, Evelyn and Johnathan, four beautiful children, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Rest in peace, Vaughn. Your life, your love, and your light will forever remain in our hearts.
