Jose Larmonie Mercedes passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, NJ, on March 16, 2025. He was born on May 05, 1958, in The Dominican Republic, La Romana, to loving parents Alfredo Larmonie and Teresa Mercedes.

Jose worked for many years as a bus driver for Express Bus Service in Paterson, NJ. He gained respect from the community because he was friendly and had a big heart.

He is survived by his beloved family in New Jersey and Massachusetts: his three sons, Jerome, Alfredo, and German; he had four grandchildren and two sisters, Crucita and Esther; his two nieces, Katherine and Theresa; and his nephew, Kevin, and Ryan. He was married to Maria Larmonie.

He was also known as (CHIKIN). His favorite hobbies were cooking and watching the NBA, and his favorite team was the Warriors. He loved to talk about his culture from The Dominican Republic.
